Dave obtained a doctorate degree in Chemistry in 1970 and worked internationally in the chemical industry for 34 years. He settled in Cyprus in 2004 and began to take an interest in the island’s wildlife. He co-authored “The Amphibians and Reptiles of Cyprus”, published in 2009, now in its 2nd edition. He went on to co-edit “An introduction to the Wildlife of Cyprus”, with 44 authors and 108 photographers; this was published in 2016.

Since 2012 he has led the Cyprus Dragonfly Study Group, whose work monitoring dragonflies has resulted in the publication of numerous papers in peer-reviewed scientific journals, gaining international recognition of the group.

Born in Cheshire, David worked in Admin before taking on roles as firstly an Admin Manager then as the Property Manager for a Rail industry UK company. He also spent some time working in Belgium and the Netherlands. He retired in 2010.

He moved to Cyprus in 2014 with Marian, his wife. They have 5 children and 10 Grandchildren between them (living in USA, Scotland and England) whom they try to see as much as possible.

David has for some years been Treasurer and Board Member for St Michaels Hospice Charity, a role he is vacating at the end of 2023. He is deputy leader of the Family History Group and attends the History and play reading groups. He also runs an online Bridge group.

Originally from South London, Gill qualified as a financial advisor in 1997 and has worked in the UK, Hong Kong, and Bermuda. Gill and her husband Steve moved to Cyprus in September 2020.

Gill has previously held Board roles including the Philanthropy Chair of the 100 Women in Finance, and is currently the Treasurer of the Cyprus International Women of Today.

Gill and Steve are both huge football fans, supporting Crystal Palace.

Dale served in the Army throughout the world for 35½ years and finished his long career in March 2010. He then took up a General Manager’s role with a specialist engineering firm until he retired to Cyprus with his wife Karen in August 2012.

He joined P3A in January 2014 and has been the membership secretary since May 2015.  

He plays Duplicate Bridge and attends Military History and History.

Born in Manchester with an English father and Scottish mother, Marian has enjoyed the mixed cultures this has provided her.

Having qualified in The Care and Support of Children and Young People her varied career was spent in the Social Care Sector. Moving into Management quite early Marian was instrumental in negotiating contracts and funding.  Setting up specialist support services for Adults with Learning Disabilities and Mental Ill Health, managing Residential, Supported Living and Domiciliary Care Services.

She also has vast experience of working with Government Departments setting up Policy and Practice standards to ensure all the Client Groups could live as independently as possible.

Susan was born in Rochdale and graduated as a Maths teacher in 1985. She worked at a secondary school in Warrington for eight years, then moved to Bedfordshire where she eventually ran two middle schools.  

Sue took early retirement in 2017, moved to Cyprus with her husband and joined the P3A. She continues to work part-time: tutoring, exam marking and invigilating for the British Council. 

Sue co-runs the history Group, walks with the Monday group and enjoys both Saturday and Sunday lunch clubs. 

Born in Manchester, UK, son of a grocer.  After a successful career in Child Care in Manchester and south London, Keith moved into Corporate Hospitality and the hotel & restaurant business, mainly in Surrey and Hertfordshire. He served several years on the South East Regional Board (including London) of the British Hospitality Association and also the National board of the Restaurant Association of Great Britain. 

Keith was involved with the Scout movement as Leader, Commissioner, Gang Show producer and finally as Chairman of Hitchin District in Hertfordshire. With his wife, Marian, he has been a regular visitor to Cyprus for over 30 years and came to live here full time in May 2017. 

After graduating from Cambridge, Ros worked in the Diplomatic Service, first in London, then Brussels, Singapore and South Korea, mainly specialising in export promotion and public relations.  

In 2004 she and her husband David settled in Cyprus, where they have pursued interests in nature research, photography and book writing.  Ros is also on the Board of Let's Make Cyprus Green, which carries out beach clean-ups and campaigns against litter and waste. 

A former P3A Membership Secretary and then Chair, Ros currently leads the Natural History Group and helps out with the Dragonfly Study, Archaeology and Film groups.   

Suzanne and her husband Keith arrived in Cyprus in October 2016, and immediately joined the P3A.

Originating from South Wales, she worked in Local Government after completing her Masters Degree and teaching qualification. Now retired, she enjoys a variety of P3A groups, especially book groups both within and outside of the P3A. A keen gym goer, she and Keith run the Circl Mobility Gold group.

She has two adult sons, one living in the UK and one living in America with his American wife.

Derek's career as an electronics engineer extended naturally into IT during the late 70s. He worked primarily in the photographic and engineering/IT industry, in the UK and abroad, overseeing changes from the analog to the digital world, and finally spent 5 years as an IT lecturer and support provider. Today's smart technologies continue to hold his interest. Hi main hobbies are photography and hi-fi.
