Our group has a mixture of talks and field trips, the latter taking the form of a guided stroll learning about the species (mainly plants but including any animals we can find) encountered along the way.  While spring is the best time for field trips, during the dry autumn we focus more on talks.  Here is our autumn 2022 programme:
13 October:  The Story of Mammals, from their dawn to the present.  By David Sparrow
10 November:  What you may not know about Birds.  By Chris Sewell
1st December:  Flowering patterns at the Pikni site, Peyia.  By Chris Morgan
David and Ros Sparrow have spent 20 years studying and photographing the fauna of Cyprus and have worked closely with expert scientists on many animal orders. They have produced two books: "The Amphibians and Reptiles of Cyprus" and "The Wildlife of Cyprus" which brought together 44 expert authors. The group also benefits from members with extensive botanical knowledge.
Ros and David are glad to help with photo IDs or other questions regarding species found in Cyprus.
